NASA released computer-generated video on Monday of the sun emitting a mid-level solar flare. The image of the flare, which erupted on the left side of the sun on August 24, was recorded by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory. NASA's powerful telescopes captured beams of ultraviolet light from the flare and recorded them as electronic signals. They were then translated into animated images by specialized computer programs.
