The US Environmental Protection Agency has waded into the fight between oil and water in drought-stricken California. A mandated review of oil and gas injection wells used in hydraulic fracturing ‒ better known as fracking ‒ discovered that over 2,500 wells are injecting fluid into water aquifers. Now state regulators are set to take action. RT’s Lindsay France takes a closer look at how the Golden State proposes protecting drinking water from fracking chemicals.
