Editor's note: This is an excellent overview of the Comet ISON passing that will occur this year and ending in January. There is no guarantee ISON will survive parahelion. However, this will occur on Nov. 28. and on Dec. 26, what remains has been estimated to be at its closet point to Earth. On Jan. 14, Earth will pass through its remnants.
